Basic Setups get your bass action lowered for general bass playing. This is good for all kinds of music playing and will also allow you to get into bluegrass, rockabilly, and orchestral if you wish.
The action cannot be lowered enough for a real smooth lowered playing action without doing the fingerboard work though, so if you want a real smooth playing bass you should order the "pro setups"
If you want to play jazz the lower jazz setup is requuired so that you have a faster lower action.
